Well, the most important thing I’ve learned is that It can happen when you least expect it, especially after you’ve given up after so many years, so many failed attempts, and generally feeling like you constantly project a creepy old guy vibe.
The one who saw through all of that was somebody I met at one of my previous jobs, in the summer of 2018. She was the one who made the first move, literally when I was heading back on to site from going out to lunch.
She came up to me, told me that she liked me, and I, in typical me fashion, kind of locked up for about a minute or so, not knowing how to react. I used to run my own blue screen of death for times like those. Fortunately, I recovered, and we went from there.
It is a two-way street, and requires a lot of work from both people involved. Lord knows I need to step up, and never take her for granted.
Thank you Lauren, for being a part of my life for almost 5 years, if at least 4. (Or so one of my Facebook life events I posted up lets me know.) You have not judged, especially when I came out to you. I think about how we first met, especially now, since I’ve recently recolored my hair.
There have been highs, there have been lows, there have been times when I’ve majorly fucked up, but all I can do is just continue to do better, and learn from my shortcomings.
Wow, this turned into a deep post, but content is content, no matter where I find it. I am committed to reviving this blog, and keeping it going, just like it’s done for about the past 11 years. The old content is coming back, remastering as always.
