#44 – In The Company Of Other Tall Girls (Part 1 – 5’8″)

There’s not too many secrets here – I’m 5 foot 9 inches tall, or as they say, “Supermodel height” – I just would feel better if I were at least 100 pounds thinner than I am now. (Yes, I am a big girl – You did see my photos, right? Right? No? Then go to my Flickr, run along, I’ll still be here! ^_^;)

Anyway, stashed away on the sidebar links at Femulate.org, (Stana’s site, where she’s a lot more experienced in the art of “Femulation” than I am – Go check out her latest makeup tips! I certainly will! ^_^;) she’s put together a list of famous women, past and present, who are well beyond the “average” height range for most women.

The ones I’ve noted and compared myself to? Join me after the jump!

5’8″ – One inch below me:

Kirstie Alley (Hey, we’re both big girls, and besides, I want to cosplay as Lt. Saavik from the Star Trek films. ^_^;)
Catherine Bach (Daisy Duke – I only wish I could look as good in super-short jean cut-offs. ^_^;)
Kate Beckinsale (Don’t get me started on the Underworld films, ok? ^_-;)
Lorraine Bracco (Though I haven’t kept up with her on The Sopranos…)
Sandra Bullock (Ah, Sandra, the quintessential “girl next door”, Miss Congeniality, a telecommuting systems analyst on the run from a secret society in The Net, and quite a few high-profile films as of late – She also seems to resemble one of my t-girl contacts on Flickr ^_^;)
Claudia Cardinale (I’ve only seen her in one film, Once Upon A Time In The West, but I loved her performance. She is involved in several humanitarian causes, and is still active in cinema to this day. She’s still quite lovely, even after all these years…)
Tia Carrere (Actress, singer, and model – Remember when she did a cover version of “Ballroom Blitz” by The Sweet? ^_^;)
Lois Chiles (Bond Girl, cast in Moonraker…)
Jill Clayburgh (Quite active as an actress through the 1970s and 1980s)
Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar from Star Trek: The Next Generation, as well as her half-Romulan daughter, Commander Sela ^_^;)
Marcia Cross (Bree from Desperate Housewives – One of my mom’s favorite shows! ^_^;)
Ellen DeGeneres (Talk-show host, comedian, actress – Not to be confused with Jane Lynch on Glee ^_^;)
Shelley Duvall (Worked with Woody Allen, Tim Burton, Terry Gilliam, and Stanley Kubrick, and created/executive produced Faerie Tale Theatre)
Sarah Ferguson (Duchess of York, Weight Watchers spokesperson)
Jane Fonda (Legendary actress, political activist, fitness guru. Daughter of Henry Fonda, sister to Peter Fonda – Did we mention she was in Barbarella? ^_^;)
Heather Graham (The actress, I believe – She made an impression on me as Rollergirl in 1997’s Boogie Nights – Oh, yeah, she was the stripper Jade in The Hangover. ^_^;)
Mariska Hargitay (From TV’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit – ‘Nuff said! ^_^; Wow, I did not know she was Jayne Mansfield’s daughter!)
Anne Hathaway (I’m catching up with her work – She seems to enjoy her role as the White Queen in Tim Burton’s re-imagining of Alice In Wonderland ^_^;)

(Interlude: Anne Hathaway’s quite attractive. I was mesmerized with how graceful she moved around as the White Queen. I also had a good laugh when I saw the classic scene from The Princess Diaries, where she comically dealt with putting on a pair of pantyhose on — In a moving car — Going up and down the hilly streets of San Francisco — I think that gives me an idea for a photo shoot. ^_^; In any case, she gives me hopme for looking attractive without having to tweeze/wax my eyebrows pencil-thin. ^_^;)

Jill Hennessy (Actress from TV’s Crossing Jordan, and a musician in her own right. She used to busk on the Toronto subway. ^_^;)
Katharine Hepburn (Another legendary actress. I need to watch more of her work. Sigh…)
Paris Hilton (Ok, folks – I will admit, I like her for one film in particular – Repo! The Genetic Opera, where she portrayed Amber Sweet. Being in that more or less nullifies the fact that the rest of the cast trumps her in acting and singing ability. ^_^;)
Whitney Houston (Singer, actress, not immune to her own struggles and controversy – Rest in Peace…)
Helen Hunt (A favorite actress, remembered for co-starring with Paul Reiser on TV’s Mad About You, also achieved cult classic status as Lena, Jack Deth’s wife in the Trancers film series, and of course, an early film she was in, taking its cue from Cyndi Lauper’s song, Girls Just (Wanna) Want To Have Fun. ^_^;)
Elizabeth Hurley (Estée Lauder spokesmodel, and actress most well-known for her role in the first Austin Powers film. Yeah, baby… ^_^;)
Part 2, covering 5’9″ famous gals I admire (My height!) happens later today. I’m tired out from writing and link-inserting. Yes, I like to document references for those who may not be familiar. I like to think I go the extra mile when I can. ^_^;
As always, hugs and kisses!
