#60 – Ultraman, Birdy, and Norman – One Body, Two Souls (Teaser)

Yet Another Placeholder Post – A longer entry is coming later today.

Ultraman – From the original 1960s live-action tokusatsu (special effects) series, created by Eiji Tsubaraya. In this case, the original Ultraman accidentally killing an Earthman, Shin Hayata, and merging his own lifeforce with Hayata’s, in order to allow Hayata to live, and also offering Hayata his powers as Ultraman to save his “adpoted” planet.

Birdy – From Birdy The Mighty (Tetsuwan Birdy) – From the 1990s anime, based upon the manga created by Masami Yuuki (Part of the Patlabor “Headgear” team), similar in premise (somewhat) to Ultraman, in which a super-powered intergalactic police officer inadvertently kills an Earthling while in pursuit of criminals. In this case, the human is a high school-age boy, and the alien super cop is a similar-age young woman. If you can track the anime down, check it out.   ^_^;

Norman – Of course, though this might freak out some folks, from Norman Bates from the Psycho film series, primarily the original one from the early 1960s. At least in the aspect that (big spoiler) towards the end of the film, it came to light that Norman didn’t really exist substantially outside of his “mother” persona. (Of course, if you saw the late 1990s “remake” with Vince Vaughn, Anne Heche, and Viggo Mortensen, you more or less know this already.)

Disclaimer and Disclosure: I am not a victim of abuse, nor do I have dissociative identity disorder, nor am I like Norman was in the film and novel. I just threw out these references to more or less describe how I feel at this point in time.

I’ll expand upon this later on. In the meantime, I have some more pictures to put up, mainly experimenting with my main outfit (return of the Little Black Dress, with enhancements) for River City Sparkle early next month.

#58 – Sick, But Satisfied…

I picked up a cold over the middle of last week. Funny how that happened, especially since I spent most of the past week, and the week before that, in the house, save for a few times out, like last weekend, and yesterday, and one day about a week and a half ago, but I apparently got lucky. You go, girl! 😛

So, I’m sniffling and sneezing, and I’m hoping to beat this, because I’ve got a few things coming up – Primarily, I’ve made the decision to attend my first public event where I’ll meet other folks like myself. I’ve bought a ticket, and booked a hotel room to spend an overnight stay up in Sacramento for River City Sparkle this year, put on by the River City Gems, a relatively new (three years running) transgender support group in the area. (About an hour and half from my hometown.) They have members  from around the area, including the Central Valley (where I’m at), the Bay Area, the Sierra Nevada region, and neighboring states. (In fact, one of my new friends on PINKEssence, encouraged me to attend the event.)

#57 – Notes While Gaming…

A run through Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst, on a private server, just me and the rest of the “girls” (Well, out of the three of us, I’m the only one who dresses up like one – at least that I know of.)

I remarked how we’re all playing girl characters, and a few other things – I received the best compliment I could, even if it was somewhat in jest. A friend of me called me a “proper lady.”

That made me feel very happy. I’m working on it, God knows I am… ^_^;

Or maybe this is a tip of the hat to TrapGirlfriend.com ^_^;

#56 – Still Alive, Of Course…

… Just finally feeling the “Crash” from a week of cross-living at home. I’m eagerly awaiting the next opportunity.

At this time, I’m considering joining up with a support group up in Sacramento, CA, called River City Gems. I’ve been encouraged by a couple new friends on PINKEssence to attend their upcoming social event, River City Sparkle, in early October.

I’m still thinking about it, and wondering if I’ll have the courage to show up, let alone get out of the car, get to a changing room and make my entrance as Julie Anne.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Oh, yeah – Hooked on Lord Of The Rings Online since it went to a free-to-play model at the beginning of this month. I can be found online as a female Champion (from the Race of (wo)Men, of course.) – I’m “Julianamorgan” on the Arkenstone world server. I’m on a somewhat random schedule online, usually playing while watching chat in another browser window.

In other news, I’m mourning the missed opportunity to check out I Love It Girl, as they’ve shut down their Fremont base of operations, pending finding “a more suitable venue” – That, along with hearing about the closing down of Adam to Eve saddens me (But then, I’m on a budget, but I would die and go to heaven for the opportunity to get a makeover, and possibly go with others for a night out.)

I guess getting in touch with River City Gems or Diablo Valley Girls are my only other options for this time being.

#54 – “The Hero’s Journey” – My Progress

Roadmap as represented by the steps from Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Journey – Referenced here and here.

Currently I Am At:

A. Departure – 4. The Crossing Of The First Threshold

“This is the point where the person actually crosses into the field of adventure, leaving the known limits of his or her world and venturing into an unknown and dangerous realm where the rules and limits are not known.”

I was previously at:

A. Departure – 3. Supernatural Aid
“Once the hero has committed to the quest, consciously or unconsciously, his or her guide and magical helper appears, or becomes known.”

Check back often to see where I’m at.

#53 – Did You Read My Story? (If not, read this post.)

I’ve posted it here on that tab up at the top of my page, and even in a post in a private group I moderate on Flickr.

Today, at around 1:30 AM my time, after talking to a new friend elsewhere online. That moment has come…

“Julie… You are home.” (or more appropriately, “welcome honey xoxo” ^_^; )

I’ve had tears in my eyes, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. I know there’s a lot of people I need to talk to – old friends, new friends, those who may not know, those who may know but don’t ask, and most of all, my family.

More importantly, I have to admit it to myself, and learn to love and accept myself for who I am. I’m not a freak, I’m not alone, I have a gift that some others don’t have.

I am transgendered.

The journey has started, it will continue, no matter how long it takes, no matter how hard the road may be. Eventually, I will reach my goal. I hope the people that matter the most to me will be there with me, on the way, or near the journey’s end.

Consider the last month and a half of entries to be the “prologue” of sorts, to the greater story that is my life.

#52 – And You Thought I Forgot? (More Photos!)

Not that I forgot or anything, but they’re a bit more low-key and causal this time around. I’m showing off my new “workout” outfit, and relaxing on the deck in my backyard. (Though, I like my schoolgirl outfit – I think I’ve found this year’s Halloween “costume.” ^_^;)

#51 – More Photos! (Made Up For Yesterday)

In spades… An enjoyable evening, with an outfit that did double duty as a business/casual look, and a quick schoolgirl-style outfit. (It’s all in the skirt and the attitude!)
