I saw Inception earlier tonight – I have to say, it’s a film that kind of messes with your head if you don’t pay too much attention. (*sigh* – Cillian Murphy… ^_^; – He worked with Ellen Page in Peacock a while back, I think I mentioned that in an earlier post. Yes, I’m jealous that he looks better than I do, whether dressing as a guy or a girl. All the more reason why I need to get motivated and work on slimming down!) I think I was more surprised at the actors I didn’t recognize, like Lukas Haas (Remember when he was the young Amish boy co-starring with Harrison Ford and Kelly McGillis in Witness?) and Tom Beringer. (Man, he’s getting gray and heavy-set.)
(And YET another new category up on the lower menu bar on the site. I write long posts, and sometimes I write short ones, like this one. Expect some reclassification, but definitely stuff longer than 140 characters – Otherwise, I wouldn’t have need for a Twitter account, would I? ^_-;)
And yes… I smile (^_^;) and I wink (^_-;) a lot, everywhere I go. Girls should smile as often as they can, right?
Anyway – I’m watching “Marie Antoinette” on Turner Classic Movies (Starring Norma Shearer) while I have a late night meal – WOW! One of the guys in there is sporting more makeup than I do on a good day. (Not to mention he’s got a better “Cupid’s Bow” lip line, and thinner eyebrows than I’ll ever have. This gives me an idea… Hmmm…. Surely nothing good can come of this, right? ^_-;) Ha ha ha ha ha ha…
(Copied, pasted, and expanded upon from my Facebook post not too long ago.)
…And now, something that just outright makes me happy, if nothing else, because:
- It’s so damn fun to listen to!
- It speaks to me, mainly because Richard O’Brien wrote the song, and performed the majority of the vocals. (Remember, friends, Shock Treatment is NOT a sequel, or a prequel to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but more of an “equal”, so I’ve been told over the past 20-odd years.)
- Jessica Harper, while taking a bit of time getting used to her in the role of Janet (Weiss) Majors, had a pretty incredible singing voice for the time this film was made. I really liked her performance in the earlier Phantom Of The Paradise film.)
(omg omg omg she has a website, and a blog, and she still sings and looks wonderful, and she cooks, and writes books, and… and… and… and I’m gushing over someone I’m barely familiar with…. Pardon me while I quietly tiptoe off to explode. ^_^;)
- They’re singing about the quintessential “Swiss Army Knife” of every girl’s wardrobe, the celebrated LBD – Little Black Dress! (Even I have one! I should show you one of my pictures of me wearing it sometime! ^_-;)
This one was sent to me yesterday morning by Gordon, a friend of mine from Flickr. This short entry, one of a series of three from Charlotte, a.k.a. “karmatic1110” on YouTube, really speaks to me, primarily on my fear and apprehension of seeing how far down the rabbit hole I can go, as far as all things Julie Anne are concerned:
I did mention that I’m still somewhat in the closet, and I’ve been out in public about 15 minutes total, not counting two separate outings driving around town (but not getting out of the car), at about an hour total. I still consider myself “Not ready for prime time” as far as voice, mindset, mannerisms, being able to pass, etc., but we’ll talk more about this later, ok?
Ah, Gordon – You do understand me somewhat – Thanks, my friend.
For lack of a better name, and in relation to this “fantastic voyage” that is my life, I’ve christened this site “Who Is Julie Anne?” for the time being.
However, as I go on, or for those who talk with me on a regular basis on Flickr or elsewhere, I wonder if there’s a more appropriate name for this site/blog, either with or without my name attached to the title?
Just a quick thought while I run off and take care of some things, and of course, get back to my big post prior to this.
Ta-ta for now, my darlings! ^_^
A new day, a new entry, and a new category. ^_^; (So nice, yet so important, that I’ve made it a Sticky post for a while.)
Today: Struggling with internal and external conflicts, in regards to my online manifestation of myself.
(Bear with me, this is a draft-in-progress, and may be tweaked or edited in the final version. Don’t worry, the link will stay the same, I’m sure.)
This is more or less, as the title states, an exercise in becoming more familiar with my content management solution of choice (Yay, WordPress!), as well as being “comfortable in my clothes,” so to speak, at least in my online presentation of myself. Since actual days where I break out the makeup, wig, clothes and shoes are whenever I can arrange them (Sometimes on very short notice!), I primarily express and further explore my femme side online, either via Flickr, Facebook, or here.
…I’ve returned to do some gradual updates here, since I’ve got a lot to talk about.
For now, I’ve done a minor update to the machinery behind the scenes here, and took care of an issue that may have caused issues with posts not displaying properly when clicking the “Click here to read…” link. That’s been taken care of. Sorry if it drove you up the wall. ^_^;
