#106 – Quick Update (Back Out Of The Rabbit Hole For A Bit)

(#106 for those keeping track. ^_^; )

I never did mention that I saw Jack & Jill at a local theater – as myself. (Not giving a damn what others thought of me.) I had fun, and never “broke character” the whole time through. (The film started a bit slow, but picked up – I’d say it’s up there, at least a somewhere behind The Wedding Singer – I never did bother to see The Waterboy, or Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, or even 50 First Dates. – I saw Punch-Drunk Love when it came out years ago, but that was a film directed by one of my favorite directors (love him or hate him), P.T. Anderson. (Boogie Nights, Magnolia, There Will Be Blood)

And, I just realized, as I was getting my outfit ready for this coming Saturday (Going to the Super Toy Show in San Jose!), that it’s the exact same outfit I wore to the movies, and to the mall beforehand. (Including dinner at BJ’s – another successful night out as myself, including small talk with one of the ladies showing me to my booth. ^_^; )

Photo catch-up coming soon from my exciting (at least for me) November, including a lot of me time. ^_^;

I am continuing to smile, even in tough times – I will not be denied, forced back into the closet, or give up fighting for what I want – the chance to be out on my own, as myself, living my life, and reinventing myself as the person I was meant to be.

#105 – TDOR 2011 Epilogue – What Happened After…

(#105 in a series – This one was originally posted at Facebook – Entry here (May not work) – The Merc, of course, is The Mercantile Saloon on 20th and L streets in midtown Sacramento’s “Lavender Heights” area (Just one of many gay bars) – Cheap, strong drinks, and an interesting place where you’re guaranteed to see a few tgirls from time to time. ^_^; )

Fun stuff at The Merc near the end of the night. Two honest-to-god 3rd generation goths, having a mini-rave to Lady GaGa’s “Judas” on the jukebox.

One of them, a guy 20 years younger than I (Old enough to be my son), comes over to me, and we talk… about music, why Faces is a better place to party at than The Merc (Which is mainly good for cheap, strong drinks.)

He asked me if I was a nun. He figured out I was a tgirl. He was cool with it. He came up from South Central L.A.

We exchanged phone numbers. ^_^;

#103 – After San Francisco Pride 2011 (July)

(What Happened To 102?) – There are no fractional posts – This is the 103rd, and posts are not necessarily numbered. The site is not dead, in fact, I’ve picked up a blog follower – Large Blooming Flower – Expect to be added!

Anyway. July 2011: Posting the photos and blogs from San Francisco Pride (Still one of my best times out I’ve had in like…. forever.) – Discovering the joys of staying connected on the go, whether at Starbucks, or my local mall, off the wi-fi on my netbook, and on my Android phone. I saw Super 8 at the theatre, and enjoyed it! I also saw the best fireworks show for free. (From the skies over my own driveway – though they were illegal, as noted by the appearance of helicopters criss-crossing the skies over my neighborhood.) – I also continued feeding my Criminal Minds habit (For those who know me well enough, or follow my Facebook posts, Penelope Garcia is my hero, and my role model. ^_^; Did I mention I own the first five seasons on DVD? )

#100 (What’s So Special About It, Anyway?)

… Actually, a lot, in fact, so much, that instead of making one big, long post that will probably take me about an hour or more to put together, I’m going to go with a series of little posts, updating and bring people up to speed on what my world’s been like since the end of June, 2011 through now.

Yes, this is blog post #100 – 100 is a special anniversary (and usually something ground-shaking, as in episode #100 of Criminal Minds)

The bad news is, I’m still out of work, and my COBRA benefits have been yanked out from under me three months early, thanks to my previous employer shutting down operations completely.

The good news is, I’m continuing to take small (though somewhat imperceptible) steps to get my life reorganized, and of course, express myself, even if only being a part-time girl, but I am getting out there, at home, at restaurants, the gas station, the mall, the grocery store, wherever I can, blending in, and just being a woman like any other, out in the world.

Stay tuned – I will fill you in, but I wanted to break this “writers’ block,” and just say what I need to say, before things backlog any further than they’ve become.

Yes, I’m alive, I’m somewhat happier than I’ve been in previous months, and I have a general idea of what I need to do — I just need to get out there and to it.
It’s all about staying alive, healthy, active, and focused.

(Oh, I have tales to tell about where I’ve been, and photos to post – Some of them have been posted on Flickr and Facebook, and elsewhere!)

Stay tuned, darlings! ^_^;

#99 – Looking Back: My SF Pride 2011 Weekend — Sunday

(Note: Stop, before you go any further, and read how this all started! Friday’s write-up is here, and Saturday’s adventures are right here. )

Concluding: Sunday started relatively early, as three of us needed to get ready to be out, Loni, as she was in the parade with the River City Gems, one of a contingent of 15 or so lovely ladies in Southern Belle gowns, always a crowd favorite for the last couple years. Joni had to be out on the scene as one of the group monitors. As for myself, I figured I’d be photographing from the sidelines, or marching at the back of the Belles, in my normal attire. (A nice top and one of my new pairs of Dickies Girl college pants, which I picked up on sale at Sears a couple weeks back.)

Sunday: After a quick breakfast at Denny’s (Yet again, since it was in walking distance, and fairly quick.), Loni and I met Tilda and Cheryle as they were catching a taxi to get within a couple blocks of the parade staging area. (Not a small task when you can’t wear a hoop skirt while sitting down in the back seat of a taxi cab.) – The driver said he’d come back for us, but after 15-20 minutes, we gave up and walked eastward, once again, several blocks, with my Android phone, GPS, and Google Maps to the rescue once again.

#98 – Looking Back: My SF Pride 2011 Weekend — Saturday

(Note: If you’re just tuning in to read this, be sure to read the previous entry, “Looking Back: My SF Pride 2011 Weekend – Friday” to find out what happened on the first day. ^_^; )

Continuing: Saturday was the first full day of my adventures at Pride Weekend in San Francisco last weekend, and it was the best and busiest day of all three, from getting up and getting going for breakfast, all the way to the wee hours of the night, making our way back from a bar and drag show. It was another exciting and wonderful adventure, adding more pages to my ongoing story…

#97 – Looking Back: My SF Pride 2011 Weekend – Friday

What can I say? This was my first official time in San Francisco for the entire Pride weekend as myself, and for the most part, it was everything I could have hoped for, with some stuff left to experience next year.

I’m going to try to recap my exploits from Friday afternoon through Sunday evening, with links to photos and videos, and recounting my experiences in the paragraphs that follow. If you haven’t been out to San Francisco, I highly recommend going to Pride at least once, no matter where on the spectrum you identify with.

#96 – San Francisco Pride 2011 Update Coming…

For those who have been following me on Facebook, yes, I went to the Pride weekend in San Francisco, from the Trans March on Friday night to the Sunday morning parade, and a few hours Sunday afternoon at the festival itself.

Stay tuned for pictures and a write-up on here. Simply put, this last weekend was one of the best experiences in my life, so far. I look forward to sharing my experience with all of you!

Keep watching this space… ^_-;

#95 – Picnic In The Park, And Some Brave New Steps…

Catching up with the last few months, because this is my forum, and I have every right to “spike the ball,” using my home field advantage, of course! ^_-;

Saturday, May 21st was another adventure, as well as another small step for me getting out and about among the mainstream world, for that day was the River City Gems picnic, the second event of the month, at a park along the Sacramento River, by one of Sacramento’s many suburbs.
